Julian has been telling this tale to his children and grandchildren for many years; in the spring of 2019 he told it to his friend Vanessa. Nine months later she had brought to the page his two characters, in delicate watercolours - just as he had imagined them.
Julian is a long established artmonger; Vanessa has recently received her degree in Illustration.
